One of my first goals for the City in 2020 is for us to have a successful census that confirms that the population in the greater Hobbs area has now exceeded 50,000
residents. Achieving this benchmark will provide even greater opportunities for our residents to have multiple options in quality housing, quality healthcare, high paying jobs, retail shopping, dining and
personal and family recreation.

In addition to my eight years of service as Mayor of Hobbs, I believe my business experience of running a
business with 150 employees that operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day helps me to understand and
support the City Manager, the Department Heads and City Staff as the City of Hobbs is a 24 hour a day 7
day a week business as well.
